Envrionmental Compliance

Arbitel takes its responsibilities to the environment very seriously and, as part of its Environmental Management System, has identified the environmental aspects of its operations and has assessed their impact. This has allowed Arbitel to set itself measurable targets and objectives which are reviewed regularly to ensure the company will achieve them. Part of this process requires Arbitel to identify legislation that links to its environmental aspects and to ensure that the company remains legally compliant. To assist in this process Arbitel subscribes to the Environmental Legal Update Service, a charitable organisation that provides access to current legislation and updates on any changes that are coming into force. This is in addition to reviewing updates from the Environment Agency and other bodies.

In addition to the above Arbitel has a dedicated compliance team that regularly audits the company’s processes and includes a review of all legislation, licences and permits. The team provides the same service for Arbitel’s clients and works closely with them and Arbitel’s environmental consultants to provide a holistic solution to environmental compliance.

Underpinning Arbitel’s recycling operations is a state of the art WEEE management system that provides a complete audit trail of all WEEE that enters, receives treatment and then leaves the facility. This greatly aids Arbitel in having a comprehensive set of auditable records to ensure fully compliance with all aspects of applicable legislation.
